Tasting Three Whites from Majestic’s Definition Own Label

Majestic – soon to be rebranded as Naked Wines – is an important figure on the high street. For many consumers, they’re the “gateway” from supermarkets to specialist wine retailers. Likewise, they introduce a lot of customers to new wines, especially from their in-house ranges.

Their entry-level own label – Majestic Loves – is all colour, fun labels, funky names and single-digit price tags. Their next rung up – Definition – is much more grown-up, newsprint-style monochrome labels, and more premium winemakers. The price point is consistently between £11 and £13 or £8 and £10 on the pick six discount.

Here we try three wines from their white range. Albarino and Gavi are both long-standing WinedUp Club favourites. Chenin Blanc isn’t known for costing £13 on the high street but this one is a top quality example of what Stellenbosch (South Africa) Chenin Blanc can do.
